In today’s rapidly evolving information landscape, libraries must work to stay relevant by re-imagining and improving traditional services, while also looking forward to developing technological shifts. I chose to become a librarian because I believed in the idea of the public library as a community backbone, a foundational concept that will never be just a passing trend. The public is the reason that public libraries exist, and librarians must work to reflect the changing demographics of both the patrons they currently serve and those that they can reach out to in the future.
With my fluency in Spanish and passion for outreach, I am excited to dedicate my career to providing innovative library services, adapting programming to the languages and locations that best fit the needs of patrons and extending the reach of our public libraries outside of the physical building and into the greater community.
